Euronion History
To Begin the history of Euronion one must start at the beginning.
The story begins not with the nation, but the people who would later found Euronion.
Chapter I: The Motherland
Originally the Euronion people were part of a much larger nation. They took part in its government and were known as hard workers and laborers. They voted and played a vital role in the function of said government. Then, the free life they had known for as long as they could remember, changed drastically. For years there had been a slow democratic transition to a Communist and Socialist Majority but there was just enough moderates to prevent any major change. The future Euronion people were well known throughout as those who held tight to their religious values and their capitalist ideology. A violent popular Coup d’état in the nation’s capital lead by the Communists, the Stalinists, the Socialists, and the Militant Irreligious Atheists overthrew the democratic government and put in place a supreme leader. This Supreme Leader knew of the future Euronion people’s values and ideas and decided to push his ideology on them by force. A mass ‘Inquisition of Logic and Reason’ was called. Its judges systematically tried and executed people for their mere beliefs. This was forever known as the Great Purge.
Chapter II: The Great Exodus
To flee the Mass Inquisitions and the Massacres, The future Euronion people gathered what they could and paid several large Merchants to pick them up near the coast of the Mother nation and transport them to the Southern Pacific Area. It was a long journey and many people died, the fleets were broken up by storms and the largest remaining fleet landed off the coast of the South Pacific. They founded a town called Euroun.
Chapter III: Euroun and its beginnings
Originally a little over a thousand citizens the townspeople got their hands on a radio transmitter and began broadcasting a message around the region hoping to find any of the other survivors. At first only a town of wooden houses and farmland with a small city center and a few chapels, newcomers, survivors of the Great Exodus as it was called, saw the city grow and demand for more public services and increased population density grew. Euroun quickly grew from a town to a minor city with over 200,000 citizens.
Chapter IV: The Regime of John Teondre
The Leader from the beginning to the population high was known as the Vacklaroush (Vahk-lahr-ru-sh) roughly translated it means “leader of the tribe” and is the equivalent to a mayor. The first Vacklaroush was known as John Teondre. He was a good leader and was one of the original and main sponsors for the Great Exodus. There was no Euronion Constitution and John Teondre’s term was undefined. His Public opinion was high enough that it allowed him to serve until the day he died.
After John Teondre’s death, which was of natural causes, the Euronion people were left leaderless and in this time of confusion Arnold Teondre, John Teondre’s first born son, attempted a bid for power. He gave a moving eulogy at his father’s funeral. The Euronion people held such a high opinion of the man that Arnold decided no election was needed and the people agreed and he was sworn in five weeks after his father’s death.
Chapter V: The Decade of Terror
Unfortunately Vacklaroush Arnold Teondre was one of the worst leaders in Euronion history. He was thick headed, unwashed, and often rude. He was an alcoholic, a warmonger, and a drug user. He was psychotic to say the least, famous throughout the region for his creative torture methods and executions. In fact he ran a business of selling schematics for his torture methods to dictators around the world. To him it did not matter the gender or age of his subjects, he murdered them from anything as far-fetched as giving a dirty look to slurping your soup in his presence. He let the top rate law enforcement go to pieces and ignored education and health care completely. The population was plagued by crime and disease which lead to a net decline in populace.
After 9 years and 7 months of constant tyrant the people began to protest against the tyrant. They wrote and circulated pamphlets explaining that no matter how hard they worked they were always sick and starving, living on the streets, while he who lifted not a single finger dined on daily feasts and had lavish sin-ridden parties and a castle that the Dictator had torn down two hospitals, a High School, a Jail, and 30 houses for right in the city center.
Arnold lived like a King and was psychotic but he was not blind to the rising tensions between the people and himself. He came up with the unthinkable. He sent small military convoys of his personal guard (Mercenaries who were paid in gold for their unwavering and unquestioning servitude, who were not even Euronion) to go to a small country adjacent to Euronion where a Plague was still heavily prevalent. He ordered them to take corpses from the streets and place them in the streets of Euroun. The people however found out about this and organized themselves. Two days later there was a massive riot. The riot engulfed the entire city and went even to the Castle gates. Arnold stood before the people in his golden robes to try and stall for time before the people took the battering rams they had procured to smash through the gates. He was famous for giving speeches so he decided to try and stall them by giving the people a speech. Midway through someone threw a tomato at Arnold. The people jeered with laughter. Arnold was so angry that he ordered boiling water and oil poured on the people pounding on the gates. He ordered his soldiers to fire on the crowd and he ordered grenade and cannon fire upon the crowd. Hundreds died and the crowd was in chaos and began to flee. Arnold felt victorious as though he had won and now was the undisputed ruler. It would be years before any new organized resistance would form after this, he thought.
However there was one of Arnold’s soldiers who was secretly Euronion. His name was Captain Tyrannos Appius Vitius. He pulled out his Colt 45 pistol and shot Arnold in the back of the head. Arnold fell over, but still clinging to life, feebly grabbed onto the base of the wall. Captain Tyrannos shot him again, in the hand. Arnold fell and tried to grab for one of pikes on the side of his castle walls which was used to display decapitated heads. He , missed and continued to fall. He hit the ground, the end of his 80 foot fall, dead.
The total death count for Arnold’s term was 50,000. Though these are only estimates, the true numbers will never be known for sure. Around 30,000 died of Starvation, 10,000 died of exposure, 7,000 from executions, 1,000 died in the riot, and the other 2,000 died of various different causes.
And with Arnold’s death an old era for Euronion had ended; with a new one set to begin.
Chapter VI: The Era of Prosperity
The Castle was ransacked and looted. Euronion was now a broken nation with no leader. Captain Tyrannos however felt that since he was the one who killed Arnold Teondre, that he was responsible for Euronion and her people.
Most of Tyrannos’ rule was spent doing damage control over Arnold’s decade of terror. Tyrannos rebuilt the people’s quarter. He Demolished the Castle in place of a modest two story Victorian House. He quickly reopened the hospitals in Euronion and encouraged settlement in other parts of Euronion which lead to several other large towns and even a few minor cities springing across the land. Euronion’s population catapulted from 180,000 after Arnold to over 300,000 in the period of three short years. His reign saw the rise of civility yet again in Euronion. People once again were content, the streets were clean, people acquired jobs and had access to good healthcare, food, and clean water. Disease was practically eradicated.
This time period known as the Era of Prosperity was short lived however. Vacklaroush Tyrannos’ reign only lasted 2 years and 7 months. Vacklaroush Tyrannos resigned at the age of 48 due to his worsening heart condition.
Though before leaving office, Vacklaroush Tyrannos set the stage for the first democratic election in over 20 years, paving the way for a new leader to take his place.
Chapter VII: The Beginnings of Democracy in Eurounion Vacklaroush Hendry Philip was elected. He continued many of the same policies of Vacklaroush Tyrannos but with a more conservative and more capitalist touch. Whether this was because Vacklaroush Philip had studied theology and before his election was considering becoming a man of the cloth, or simply because he believed these principles would work better for Euronion is unclear. He also changed the name of the Head of State from Vacklaroush to ProConsul. His reasoning for this was stated in one of his published journals which is currently displayed in the Euronion National Museum for Antiquities.

Or in transcript
“In my personal opinion, the Euronion people have long passed the phase where we refer to our leader as, in our native tongue, "leader of the tribe". It has come to my attention that a nation with its borders borders stretching miles and with a people that now number in over a million, have long passed the time to call their leader the leader of their tribe is simply far too primitive. Therefore, I have decided to give the executive official a new name, the name worthy of a civilization as ours. The Executive officer of the Republic of Euronion shall now be called by the name of ProConsul. It is also too long that we have lived by this "one leader" mentality. Along with renaming the Executive office, I also plan to draft a constitution. A document that will ensure something akin to the decade of terror by Vacklaroush Arnold Teondre never happens again.”
Chapter VIII: A Monarchy, A Constitution and an Assassin's Bullet
The day before the Constitution was set to be released to the public Vacklaroush Philip towards the end of Sunday Mass got up to the podium to give a speech. Sunday mass was a rare occasion in which many people from all walks of life gathered in the same place, side by side. Vacklaroush Philip felt this was the best way to get the word out.
Vacklaroush Philip got up and announced that he would be stepping down from the position of Vacklaroush to which there was a loud expression disappointment from the crowd. Vacklaroush Philip held up his hand to silence the crowd and announced that one of the branches in government stated in the constitution would be the Monarchy.
He explained that there had been a recent arrangement to have a marriage between Vacklaroush Philip’s only child, a daughter by the name of Sarah Marie Philip and 22 years of age at the time, and Youstice Octarius Tyrannos, the son of the Vacklaroush Tyrannos, who died some years earlier of a heart attack. Youstice was also the only child of Vacklaroush Tyrannos and 25 years of age at the time. Philip announced that their child would be the first Monarch of Euronion. After this announcement he was given permission by the Bishop to end to Sunday service and left straight to the ProConsul’s residence afterwards.
Though ProConsul Philip forgot to go to the marketplace the earlier day. He decided to go to the market place several hours after his announcement. He was a humble man, a man of the people, and thus walked around the common man without fear and without escort. This would be his undoing unfortunately. According to records, ProConsul Philip had just finished purchasing some oranges and a French bread from a Vender when a man in all black took out a gun and shouted “We will not have a tyrannical monarch! For Freedom!” he shot ProConsul Philip four times and fled the scene.
The Next day the Constitution was released. The rights of the Monarchy were surprisingly few and most power was given to a democratically elected government. It was never found out who ordered the assassination of ProConsul Philip. The police thought it was an assassin because they had a bar owner identify a man all in black speaking to another man all in black in the corner of his bar immediately after Sunday Service, exchanging what seemed to be pouches of gold coin.
Constitution Day, as it is called, should’ve been a day for celebration, but was instead marked by candlelight vigils all over Euronion, masses being held all day all over Euronion, all praying for the ProConsul’s life. Unfortunately the next day, ProConsul Philip died in surgery in an attempt to save his life. He died at 4:32 a.m. on a Tuesday. It was followed by a Papal day of silence. There was a long candlelight march in complete silence with Sarah Philip leading the march in tears.
Chapter IX: The First Euronion Congress and the Great Emigration
A month after the death of ProConsul Philip, the First Euronion Congress was elected in compliance with the New Constitution. The first act of the first Congress was to declare John Teondre, Vacklaroush Tyrannos, and ProConsul Vacklaroush Philip as national heroes. Their second act was very controversial, an emigration. Euronion’s booming population was outgrowing the small countryside borders it had originally set out with, if they stayed any longer, it would be by squishing and cramping the people together and making the entire nation high density. There were also the scars left by Arnold Teondre’s reign and the scars left by the assassination of ProConsul Vacklaroush Philip.
The First Euronion Congress passed in a gesture with 80% in favor and 20% against to emigrate to a new land discovered by Euronion Explorers. They had named it Teondre after John Teondre. When they explored the island further they found scouts from the People’s Republic of Kowloon-California. The KCA, as they called themselves, agreed that the new land should be called Teondre and both nations emigrated to the large island.
Chapter X: The Founding of Veronaga
Euronion’s took everything with them, graves, monuments, and all their possessions, and founded a new city called Veronaga. It was meant to be the permanent new capital of the Euronion government. A Capital building was constructed so congress could meet, a Supreme Court building was constructed as well and an Executive building as well.
While the first ships were landing, the son of Youstice and Sarah Tyrannos, the first King of Euronion, disembarked as one of the first Euronions to step foot on the new land. He saw a majestic animal riding across the landscape, only its shadow visible in front of the Sunrise. As Kevin’s feet touched the ground, the animal went on its hind legs, neighed, and rode onward. The young King Kevin at only 11 years of age then named the horse as the national animal. The King also decided to symbolize the new land and new beginning they had found here, replaced the old blue flag with the cross, tree, and stars; with the new flag which is still in use today.
Chapter XI: Rising Tensions Between the Two Powers
Though relations between the KCA and Euronion seemed to be good, tensions began to rise rapidly after Euronion’s population passed 2 million. As Euronion shifted to a more conservative and capitalist system and ideology, the KCA sifted to a more socialist and communist system and ideology. This frightened many people in Euronion for they had not forgotten their history that their grandparents and great grandparents had told them of the Great Purge and Euronion’s origins.
Things came to a breaking point when rumors spread that the KCA was preparing for war by arming their troops with weapons and by arming themselves with weapons of mass destruction. This was the last straw for both nations as it negotiations came to a stall and many thought that there would be war within the week between the two nations. They may have gotten along in the past but they were now different in every way imaginable, ideologically, politically, philosophically, and religiously.
Chapter XII: The Second Emigration
After three years of dealing with the KCA and not just their ideology and politics but their deceiving nature, the Euronion people had had enough. The Congress ordered another emigration. Ships were called and the King ordered all horses in Teondre to be captured and put on ships to take them to their new land.
Again burial sites, monuments, and possessions were carried unto ships to be brought to the new land. And on the final day before departure, the people piled millions of KCA dollars and thousands of KCA flags and used them as kindling to set fire to Veronaga. Though as a final monument to show that Euronion had been there on the island of Teondre and to show that they had been the discoverers of Teondre they left a gigantic marble pillar carved into the tallest mountain of Teondre. It had a large golden label on it and it read “WE SAW. WE FOUND. WE CAME. WE WERE HERE – The Republic of Euronion”. The people of Euronion found a new land called Arvana. Euronion also applied for World Assembly Membership and was accepted. Now with a population of over 10 million several nations broke off. One of them which still exists today is the Holy Empire of the Theocracy of Calam. Slowly Euronion’s population grew to 50 million.
Chapter XIII: The Final Emigration to Castiana
“In my personal opinion, the Euronion people have long passed the phase where we refer to our leader as, in our native tongue, "leader of the tribe". It has come to my attention that a nation with its borders borders stretching miles and with a people that now number in over a million, have long passed the time to call their leader the leader of their tribe is simply far too primitive.
